The Roof

Dynasty
Season 3 Episode 2
Airdate:  October 6, 1982
Recap:  The police captain comes into the house and tells Blake that he is going to be taking control of the case.  He tells him that they’ve got no proof that Ahmed kidnapped the baby; Blake gets mad at him and goes in to the library.  Krystle comes in and brings him coffee, she suggests that he needs some rest, he yells at her telling her to leave him alone.  (put video of the room you are tearing me apart or make pic of him yelling Krystle you are tearing me apart)  He stops her from leaving telling her that he is sorry and that he needs her.  She asks him why he never told her about Adam, he tells her that he just shut that part of his life away.  She asks if Steven or Fallon knew anything about Adam, he tells her that they never told them.  He explains that he had to close that off from the rest of his life or he couldn’t go on.  He tells her that it happened when they were struggling financially.  (I can’t imagine Alexis with anyone that wasn’t incredibly wealthy.)
In Montana, Michael is sitting with his grandmother, she tells him that she is going to die and that she needs to make peace with her sins.  She tells him that she sinned when she took him from the carriage in Denver.  She tells him that when she dies, that she wants him to collect his birthright, she makes him go into her draw and he finds a baby rattle with the initials A.A.C on it, she tells him it stands for Adam Alexander Carrington.  She makes him say that he is Adam Carrington and makes him promise that he will go to his parents.
Fallon tells Jeff that she just realized how people could hate them because of their money.  She tells him that if she knew about her brother before, then she might have gone through with the abortion.
Alexis is telling Blake about Cecil’s condition she tells him that she has taken a room at the hospital.  She tells him that Cecil is insisting on getting married in the hospital room.  Fallon comes down and asks them why they never told her about Adam, Alexis tells her that it was all Blake’s doing, since he made her leave town.  Blake tells her that he didn’t want her and Steven to live in fear.  She tells him that if he told them then she might have been able to protect her son.
Joseph comes into Krystle’s room and asks her if she has seen Claudia, he tells her that the bedroom is closed and there is no answer, and he doesn’t feel right going inside.  He tells her that the hospital called Claudia to tell her that they are ready for her.  Krystle goes knocks at the door when there is no answer she goes inside.  She leaves and finds Joseph and asks if he has seen Blake, he tells her that he just left with the police, they have a suspect.
At the station Ahmed is being questioned.  He denies being at the house, but they tell her that there is a witness.  He says that he did come to try and convince Blake, but he left as soon as he heard that he was out of town.  The captain tells Blake that his gut tells him that he is innocent.
Alexis tells Jeff that Cecil has been asking for him, she tells him not to say anything about the baby.  Jeff tells Cecil that with all their differences he was very good to him.  Cecil asks him about the baby; Jeff tells him that he is growing so big.  Cecil asks him to kiss him for him, he tells him to tell the baby that family is important.
Jeff goes to his father’s grave and talks to him, and then the creepy caretaker comes over and tells Jeff that he is sorry about his son.  Jeff walks away and Grimes goes off on him, and tells him that he has feelings too.
Fallon finds the nurse Susan in the kitchen drinking wine, she tells her that she had a thing with Nick too, and she wants to know if she and Nick were behind the kidnapping, she asks her how much money she wants to give her son back.  She tells her that it’s always money with her and that no amount will make her confess to something she didn’t do.
Krystle tells Blake about Claudia disappearing; she tells him that she is beginning to think that she has something to do with the kidnapping.  Blake tells her that Claudia left because she just doesn’t want to be sent back to the hospital.
Claudia opens the door to her new apartment; the landlady comes over and tells her if she needs anything just to ask.  When Claudia closes the door she picks up the baby wrapped in Little Blake’s blankets.
Blake talks with a reporter, he wants her to write a story about the kidnapping, but she tells him that she wants to write a story about the kidnapping of Adam, he tells her that it’s a dead story, but she tells him that she got a call asking a lot of questions about Adam, she asks him if he knows anyone in Billings Montana.  Blake tells her that it’s only a crank caller.
In Montana, the doctor tells Michael that his grandmother didn’t leave him much only the things she taught him.  Michael takes the doctor to another room to talk; he tells him that he is a hypocrite.  Michael tells him that he knows that he cheated his grandmother.  The doctor tells him that he always knew that he had a mean streak.  Michael asks him what his grandmother told him about his parents.  He tells Michael that she told him that his parents were killed in Denver.  Michael asks him if he was in on it too, he asks Michael what he is talking about.  Michael says he doesn’t know yet and leaves to go pack.
Blake tells Krystle that Nick left for the Middle East; alone he tells her that he thinks she is right about Claudia.
Claudia is going to the landlady’s apartment to get some towels, when she sees herself on the news; she overhears the landlady calling the police about her, she runs up to the roof of the apartment with the baby.
Blake tells Fallon that he thinks the baby is with Claudia, and tries to calm her down.
The police are quietly surrounding Claudia on the roof; she sees them and tells them to stay away, she moves closer to the edge of the building.
Michael flirts with one of the flight attendants and gets her to book a room in the hotel for him, and they make a date for dinner.
The police have the whole building surrounded now.  Blake, Krystle, Jeff, and Fallon all go up to the roof with the Captain.  There is an officer trying to talk Claudia to leave the roof, but she won’t, Krystle and Jeff tell Blake to talk to her since she has always trusted him, but Fallon says that she’ll talk to her.  Claudia asks her what she is doing there; Fallon tells her she just wants her baby.  Claudia tells her that the baby is Lindsay.  Fallon tells her that the baby is her son not Lindsay, and she begs her to give him back.  Claudia tells her no.  Blake tries to talk to Claudia.  He tells her he knows how much love is in her, and she tells him that it’s all for Lindsay.  He tells her that Lindsay isn’t there, that she is resting.  Claudia asks Blake if she is alone.  He tells her no, that her father is with her.  She asks why Matthew took Lindsay from her.  He says he doesn’t know.  A police officer, who looks like he is in a terrible costume (get picture) is coming up from behind her.  She turns and sees him; Claudia stumbles and drops the baby over the side of the building.  As everyone is holding onto each other, the police call up and tell them that it was only a doll that fell.  Fallon is hysterical, and Blake is trying to get through to her that it wasn’t her baby and she faints.
Final Thoughts:  The ending was so bad, I know that they would never have done something like that to a real baby, but maybe if they didn’t have such a clear shot at what is clearly a doll; it wouldn’t have been so bad.  And to repeat myself I don’t believe Alexis would ever have been with someone who didn’t have money.
Best Outfit:  I'm confused by the uniform for these flight attendants, is this a themed airlines?

The Plea

Dynasty
Season 3 Episode 1
Original Airdate:  September 29, 1982

Recap:  Blake is still unconscious at the bottom of the cliff.  Krystle is at the Ranger’s office, she is still calling Blake on the walkie talkie, the ranger tells Krystle not to worry that he is probably out of range and they will find him before the storm hits.
Joseph tells Fallon and Jeff that the nurse did leave the house, and that the police have a description of the car.  Fallon begins to cry and says that she is a terrible mother for leaving the baby, Jeff tells her that he is hurting too.  The police bring the nurse back, she tells them she went to town to get something for the cooks and, she has no clue that the baby was missing, but Fallon doesn’t believe her.
The doctor comes out and tells Alexis that Cecil suffered a massive coronary.  She wants to go in and see him, but he tells her not yet.  Alexis doesn’t take no for an answer and tells him that she was going to marry him the next day, so he lets her inside the room.  She goes to Cecil’s bedside and talks to him, he opens his eyes, but it doesn’t look like he even knows she is there.  She tells him that she loves him and that he has to get better because they have so much that they need to do together.  She says that she wants to get married right here in his hospital room.
It's raining and lightening, Blake begins to wake up, he hears Krystle calling him from the walkie talkie, but when he tries to grab it, it falls further down the hill.
Jeff tells the police about the old man he saw at the cemetery, he tells them that he could id him again if he saw him.  Fallon tells them that they should be talking to the nurse.  The Lieutenant tells her that they are checking everything out.  Fallon doesn’t think they are doing enough and leaves to call Blake.
Krystle puts on a rain poncho and goes out into the storm to look for Blake herself.
The doctor tells Alexis that he heard about her plan to marry Cecil and tells her that he won’t allow it.  She tells him that he has made a mistake, because Cecil is a member of the hospital board.  He tells her that Cecil’s heart won’t take it, but she insists that she will marry him.  He tells her that it all depends on Cecil, and if he gets better.
Claudia finds Jeff in the nursery, she says that no one can sleep tonight, just like she couldn’t sleep when she got the news about Lindsay.  She asks Jeff to kiss her, but he doesn’t want to, she is confused because he went to her when Fallon wouldn’t have anything to do with him, then she realizes that he is thinking about how she used him.  She tells him that God is punishing them all, and she is glad that Cecil is in the hospital.   Joseph comes in and tells Jeff that the Lieutenant is downstairs.
Blake is trying to get up the cliff, but slips, he tries again and makes it to the top.  Krystle is still looking for him.
The Lieutenant tells the nurse that he knows that she lied to him about why she left New York.  He tells her that he knows she is a convicted felon.  She stole a cigarette case from Cartier.  She tells him that she took it for a man who she was in love with, but who didn’t love her.  He asks who it was, she tells them that is was Nick Toscanni.  She says that she followed him to Denver, but she swears that she doesn’t know anything about the baby’s kidnapping.  Once she is gone Jeff tells the Lieutenant about the last time he saw Nick and how angry he seemed when he talked about the baby.
Krystle is off her horse searching for Blake, she sees him walking towards her.  Blake looks up and sees Krystle and they walk towards each other.
Blake is taken to the hospital, he wants to go home, but the doctor tells him that they want to keep him over night.  Alexis sees him being taken into a room, she goes over to Krystle.  She asks her what happened.  Krystle tells her that if she hadn’t had her wedding set up on their lawn that this would never have happened.  Krystle leaves her and goes into the room.  Blake tries to get her to take him home but she tells him that he has to rest, she even turned off the phones in his room.  She comments about how Nick told her he never saw Blake.  Blake tells her that he did see Nick, he wonders what Nick is up to.
Jeff tells Krystle about the baby.  Alexis goes over to Krystle and tells her that she won’t be blamed for what happened to Blake, Krystle tells her that she should be more concerned about her daughter now that the baby has been kidnapped.  Krystle tells Blake about the baby, and he tells her that they have to go back to the house.  Alexis walks in and asks him if their nightmare is happening all over again.  Before they leave the hospital Blake questions the doctor about Nick.  He tells them that Nick quit and disappeared.
At the house Blake tells Jeff about his fight with Nick, he is sure that Nick is behind the kidnapping.  Blake checks on Fallon as she is sleeping.  He promises her that he will get her baby back.
Blake says that he is going to go on the news and make an appeal to have the baby returned to them.  The Lieutenant tells him that he is sure that Blake must have more than one enemy, not to just assume that it is Nick.  Alexis comes and says that they went through this before and they will get through it again together.
Krystle asks Blake about what Alexis said, but he tells her that he doesn’t want to talk about it, he doesn’t want to open old wounds, he tells her that he is sorry and tells her that he can’t talk about it yet, she tells him that she understands.
Fallon goes into the nursery and Claudia follows her inside, she tells her that she is glad that she isn’t like her, she can see the hope in her eyes.  She tells Fallon not to let go of it.  A camera man walks in and tells Fallon that Blake wants the press conference filmed in the nursery.
Blake asks Claudia about the man she saw.  She says that she is sure he had a beard, she tells him that she woke up and remembered that the car had an odd emblem on it, like a curlicue, he asks her if it could be Arabic, she says that it could.  Blake says that it must have been Ahmed.
An old lady comforts the baby, she opens the door and gives the baby to someone.
The family all gathers in the nursery and give the press conference.  Blake makes his plea, and Alexis interrupts and tells them about Adam, their first son who was kidnapped twenty-five years ago.
An old lady is watching the press conference, she is crying, Michael walks in and she calls him Adam.  He tells her that his name is Michael, and she tells him no, his name is Adam Carrington.  He tells her not to get upset, that it is only a tv program.  The doctor comes in and checks on the old lady.  He tells Michael that she won’t be with them much longer.  Michael tells him that he thinks she has become delusional.  He tells Michael that she is still as sharp as a tack.
Alexis asks Blake what if it will be just like Adam.  Blake turns and hugs Fallon.
Final Thoughts:  Loved the ending.  I really doubt that Nick had anything to do with the kidnapping, it is more likely that it was Ahmed that is responsible.  Even the creepy old man at the cemetery seemed more like a red herring then an actual suspect.  Can’t wait for the return of Adam, and see what kind of drama comes with that.
Best Outfit:  I choose this because I noticed that Krystle's pants were made of matching fabric.  I love that Alexis has a Kleenex in her bracelet.  This has nothing to do with an outfit but why is Joseph in the video plea, he's not a member of the family no matter what any of them say.

Kidnapped

Dallas
Season 1 Episode 18
Air Date:  December 17, 1978 (1978-12-17)

ReaRecap:  At breakfast, Bobby tells the family that he hopes that Pam doesn’t start working nights, since she’s been out of the house before breakfast.  Sue Ellen got a letter from her mother, and she tells them that she plans on coming out for a visit.  JR tells her she can’t stay there.  There is a strange guy watching the house, as they all go off for the day.
In a motel room, three people are planning on kidnapping JR, they have pictures of everyone and everyone’s cars.  They are going to make their move soon.
Bobby has to meet with an architect, when he gets to his car he finds that it has a flat tire, he goes back to the office and tells the secretaries that he is going to take JR’s car, they will have the flat fixed before JR gets back from his meeting so he can take Bobby’s car home.
JR is at the hotel, but he’s not at the meeting he told them he would be at, he’s with his latest girlfriend, who complains that she never gets to see him anymore.  He agrees to stay awhile longer, even though his next appointment will be waiting for him at the office.
The kidnappers follow Bobby, to me it looks like Bobby knows that he’s being followed so I’m not sure why he pulled off to a deserted road.  They pull guns on him, and they realize that they have the wrong Ewing, but they take him anyway.  They take him to what looks like a crack house, and they chain him to a bed.
They take his wallet and leave.  They have done this before, but they killed the last person they kidnapped.
JR returns to the office and they tell him that Bobby hasn’t arrived at the construction site yet and that he left an hour ago.
The kidnappers decide that they will use Cliff as a go-between.  They bring Bobby out of the room and tell him that they are going to take his picture and have him write a letter to Pam.
Cliff gets a phone call, it’s from the kidnappers, they tell him he’s got to tell the family and the first set of instructions are buried near the ranch.
The family is waiting for Bobby to come home for dinner, Pam comes in having seen his car asks where he is.  JR tells them that Bobby took his car.  As Miss Ellie takes a phone call there is a knock at the door.  Cliff comes in telling them that he’s here to see Jock.  Miss Ellie tells them that they found JR’s car abandoned, and Cliff tells them he got the call from the kidnappers, and shows them the note he found.  JR wants to call the FBI, even though they told them not to call the police or the FBI, but Pam tells him that they need to do what the kidnappers told them.  Miss Ellie tells Jock that she’s right, so Cliff will follow the directions and bring the money to the kidnappers.
At bank the next day Cliff asks JR why he called the FBI, he tells Cliff that they know what is best for Bobby.  Outside they are being watched by one of the kidnappers.
JR goes to Ray, telling him that they need to put aside their differences till they get Bobby back, he wants Ray to get a bunch of ranch hands together that are good shots, he’ll tell him more when it’s time.
The kidnappers call Cliff and ask who the guy at the bank was, they know that they called the FBI, and tell to get rid of them and follow the next set of instructions, and if they don’t Bobby will be dead.
Cliff gets to the bar and finds out where he needs to go next and a photo of Bobby.  He goes to a park and gets the next note, which tells him to go to the train tracks.  When he gets there, there is nothing there but another note.  He takes it and returns to Southfork.  He shows them the note from Bobby, the photo and his wallet which were in the envelope.
One of the kidnappers tells the other two that he thought the FBI was following Cliff.  The other man and the woman want to kill Bobby and get out of town.  He tells them that there will be no killing.  They hear a noise from the room where they are keeping Bobby, and find him escaping.  Later the lady come in and takes the plate of food from Bobby, she tells him about how she would do anything for money, he tells her that he’ll give a lot of money if she lets him go, she gets mad saying she wouldn’t ditch the other two, and climbs on him kissing him.  She stops when she’s called to the other room.
Cliff gets another call, he wants to talk to Bobby, but the caller tells him no.  They make an agreement to swap Bobby and the money the next morning.  JR leaves the room, telling them he’s got something to take care of.
Jock is with JR and Ray with the ranch hands, they all get getting their guns loaded and ready.  JR tells them what they need to do.
Jock tells Cliff that it’s time to go and gives him the suitcase of money, Pam said to take care of himself and Bobby.  Miss Ellie tells him that they all will be grateful to him forever if he brings Bobby home alive and well.
At the field, Cliff is waiting by the car, he doesn’t see the guys hiding in the field.  The kidnappers pull up and make Cliff bring the money forward before pulling Bobby from the car.  He makes Cliff open the suitcase, and then pushes Bobby forward towards Cliff’s car, Cliff has to wait a bit, and then is told to go back to the car.  As the kidnapper takes the money JR calls out and they all begin to fire.  Bobby pulls Cliff down, and they stay till the shooting is over.  Both men kidnappers are hit, the woman gets out of the car, and rushes to the side of her boyfriend, one of the ranch hands takes her gun.  Cliff goes at JR, accusing him of almost getting them shot, and JR tells him that they were out of shot, but Cliff doesn’t believe him.
At the ranch Pam tells Bobby how worried she was, Pam asks JR about Cliff almost getting killed, and he tells her that he was never safer.
Final Thought:  Pretty good stand alone episode, it was interesting to see the families have to work together.  I think that this would have been as stronger episode if they had set up the kidnapping earlier and maybe made it a two-parter, getting more backstory of the kidnappers would have been better.
Best Outfit:  The jacket it huge on this lady.
Fight Count: 0
