The Wedding

Dynasty
Season 3 Episode 3
Airdate:  October 20, 1982
Recap:  Jeff asks Blake if he thinks the person who kidnapped the baby was Ahmed, but Blake tells him that he doesn’t think so anymore.  Blake asks if there was anyone else suspicious around the house at the time the baby was taken.  Jeff tells him that there was no one else, but the caretaker Grimes, he tells Blake that Grimes mentioned Nick.  Blake tells Krystal to take Fallon back to the house, and he and Jeff leave.
At Grimes’ house, he hears the sirens and picks up the baby; he goes out the back way.  The Police go into the house, with Blake and Jeff following right behind.  Blake picks up a rattle from the crib in the center of the room and shows it to Jeff.  They follow the police out the back as they chase after Grimes.  A motorcycle cop cuts him off and soon he is surrounded.  He tells them all to stay back; Jeff comes forward slowly telling that he wants his son.  Finally he gives him the baby, Blake rushes at him, but the police move him out of the way and handcuff Grimes.  He tells them that it wasn’t his idea, that Nick paid him to do it.
In the car, Blake tells Jeff that Grimes’ son Roger was the man who was sleeping with Alexis, and that Nick must have read about it from the trial.  Blake tells him that he will make Nick pay for what he did.
Claudia is packing her suitcase; she is being watched by a nurse who will take her to the sanitarium.  Jeff comes and talks to her, she tells him that the doll was Lindsay’s and she was only taking care of it, and didn’t mean to hurt it.  Jeff tells her that he didn’t mean to hurt her; she asks him if he ever loved her.  He tells her that they came together at a time when they really needed each other, and that he did love her.  She goes down the stairs saying goodbye to Joseph and the rest of the staff, who are sad to see her leave.  She goes to Blake, who tells her that everything will be alright; she stops before Krystle who hugs her.
In Cecil’s hospital room, the doctor is checking his vitals, and says that they are good, when Alexis walks in, he tells her to leave so that Cecil can rest, outside she asks him how Cecil is doing, but his answer isn’t good enough for her.  She tells him that Cecil wants to go ahead with the wedding, and he tells her that he won’t allow it.  A nurse comes over and congratulates her, she asks what for, and she tells her that the baby was found.
Alexis goes over to Blake’s house and complains to him that a stranger had to be the one to tell her about the baby, he tells her that they were more concerned about the baby and didn’t think to tell her.  Krystle walks in and tells Blake that he has a phone call; once he is gone she tells Alexis that she wants her to leave.  Alexis goes off on her about how everyone belongs to Blake.  She tells her that the future is going to be different because they will soon hear from her and she may become a secretary again very soon.
In the waiting room, Alexis asks the nurse when she can see Cecil.  The nurse tells her that Cecil is already with his lawyer and he can only have one visitor at a time.  Cecil’s lawyer comes out and talks to Alexis, he tells her that Cecil wants to see her.  She goes into the room, and tells him that he looks wonderful, but that he should be resting.  She asks him what business he wanted to talk to her about, he tells her that the wedding will take place tomorrow at three and that everything is being taken care of all she needs to do is show up in a pretty dress.
Fallon walks into the nursery, and Susan tells her that the baby just finished his bottle.  Fallon starts to go off on her and when Jeff walks by he tells her to cut it off.
Krystle goes into the library and finds Blake, he tells her that its relief that is settling in not fatigue.  She tells him to go upstairs and get some rest.
Jeff is going back upstairs and finds Susan coming down with her suitcase; she tells him that Fallon just fired her.  He goes up to the nursery, Fallon tells him that she fired her, when they start arguing that she was against Susan just because she had an affair with Nick, the baby wakes up, she calls Joseph on the house phone and ask him to make up a bed in the nursery for her, Jeff tells her that that’s just great and walks out.
The next morning Fallon tells Blake that she wants to move out of the house and take the baby with her, she tells him that she wants to find her purpose.  She tells him that he can’t buy what she wants, and to let her go.  He tells her that he admires her and agrees that she needs to find something to do.  He tells her to pick out something she wants to do and they will talk.  Joseph comes in and shows Blake the article about Adam.
Fallon goes to the La Mirada, she looks around the hotel, which is full of old people, she takes notes and catches the eye of Michael who is on a payphone, they exchange a smile.  Michael is setting up a meeting with Blake later in the day.  He goes over to the front desk and talks to one of the men there, who tells him that Blake owns the hotel.
Fallon goes to Blake’s office and tells him that she wants him to give her the hotel, that she can turn it around and make a profit for him.  She tells him that if he agrees then she will hold off on the divorce, but they will have a marriage in name only and she will start living her own life.  On her way back up the elevator, she meets up with Michael again; she tells him that she forgot something upstairs.  They talk about him living in Montana.  He tells her that she is very attractive, and she tells him that she think he is too.  He wants to know her name, but she doesn’t tell him, he tells her that his name is Michael Torrance.
Alexis walks into the kitchen looking for Joseph, Krystle tells her that he isn’t there.  Alexis tells her to tell Joseph to lock up the cottage and to give the keys to Fallon, she is leaving it to the baby.  Krystle asks her if she is moving.  Alexis tells her that she is marrying Cecil today, so she will be moving into his house.  She goes on about how Krystle hasn’t made use of Blake’s house and money by throwing parties like she used to.  She tells her that she and Cecil will show the town how to party, and if the whim strikes her that she might even invite Krystle and Blake.  Krystle tells her not to bother, that they won’t show up.  Alexis turns to leave, but turns back and tells her that she knows, despite their differences, that she wishes her the best.  She leaves.
Blake meets with Michael, he asks him if he wants a drink, and Michael says that it’s a bit early for him.  Blake says that his uncle would have, Michael tells him that he doesn’t have an uncle.  Blake tells him that he knows that already, and asks him what this is all about.  Michael tells him that he lied because he wanted to talk to him.  Blake asks him if he is the anonymous caller from Montana, and calls the article in the paper garbage.  Michael tells him that it isn’t garbage.  Blake asks him if he knows where his son is.  Michael tells him that he does.  Blake asks him where he is.  Michael stands up and says that it’s him.  Blake gets upset and tells him that he is going to throw him out.  Michael asks him to give him a minute.  He tells Blake about how his “grandmother” told him on her deathbed that he was really Adam Carrington, that she kidnapped him after she buried her grandson, and his parents in Denver 25 years ago.  He wants Blake’s help, he tells him that at first he didn’t believe it either, he asks about the hospital records.  Blake tells him that everything burned in a fire at the hospital and asks if he knew about it.  He denies that he knew anything about the fire.  He is about to tell Blake about the rattle he found, but changes his mind, and tells him that after meeting him he is glad he isn’t a Carrington.  He leaves the office passing Jeff, who walks into the office.  He asks Blake who that was; Blake tells him that it was no one.
Alexis walks into Cecil’s room, dressed all in white.  The doctor tells Cecil that he is still against this, but Cecil wants to go ahead and tells the priest to get on with the ceremony.  When they are exchanging their vows, Cecil seems to lose concentration and is prompted by the priest to continue.  After the ceremony Cecil asks for the doctor, nurse and the priest to leave.  He asks Alexis if she was afraid that he wouldn’t answer, she tells him that she was only afraid for him.  Then he starts to go on about her and Blake, and what they talked about on their honeymoon.  He is getting more and more upset, and has another heart attack, Alexis calls the doctor back in, and they try to get his heart back going, but it’s no use.
Final Thoughts:  That caretaker was just way too shady, but I’m glad that it’s over, and I’m sure that this will be the last time we hear the name Nick Toscani on the show.  I actually felt bad for Alexis when she was the last one to know about the baby being found, and Blake pretty much telling her that they forgot about her.  That was a crazy ending, with Cecil, clearly he had his reasons for marrying her just like she did, but we won’t know what they were since he is now dead.
Best Outfit:  This looks like the cheapest wedding dress ever.

John Ewing III Part 2

Dallas
Season 1 Episode 29
Air Date:  April 6, 1979

Recap:   JR goes to the clinic and talks with the doctor, he asks him how Sue Ellen is doing, and when she can come home.  The doctor tells him that she’s not ready to leave yet, and that she’s resentful for being there.  JR insists on seeing her, because Jock and Miss Ellie expect him to.
When he goes into her room, Sue Ellen tells him to leave her alone, the doctor locks her back in and tells JR that she will be okay.
Lucy and Miss Ellie get home from shopping for things for prom, Jock seems really excited to see what Lucy got and goes inside with her.  Miss Ellie asks if JR called, she is very worried about Sue Ellen, and she doesn’t understand what happened to her to make her get so bad.
Cliff finally manages to corner Pam on her way out of The Store, she tells him that she’s too busy to see him, and that she doesn’t want to choose sides anymore.  She tells him that he’s caused enough problems and tells him that Sue Ellen has been committed to a sanitarium, and she’s a drunk because of him.  Pam tells him that he’s got to give up everything if he wants to really help Sue Ellen.
Miss Ellie goes to visit Sue Ellen.  Sue Ellen tries to convince her that she is fine, and she was just tired.  Miss Ellie asks if she started drinking so much because of troubles with her marriage.  Sue Ellen is still in denial about her drinking problem, she asks about Lucy and says that she will be home for her graduation, Miss Ellie know that she won’t be out by then, but tells her that she just needs to get better.
Sue Ellen pushes the call button for the nurse.  When she comes into the room, she tells her she’s only supposed to push the button one time, she tells her that she wants her medication, the nurse tells her it isn’t time yet, but tells her that there are other ways she can get what she wants, while she is fingering Sue Ellen’s pearl necklace.  Sue Ellen doesn’t know what she’s talking about so the nurse spells it out for her, she can get her booze if Sue Ellen pays her.  This is a great nurse, she’s probably killed patients in the past too just to get their possessions.  I’ve watched too many episodes of Deadly Women on Investigation Discovery, because I’ve created a whole back story to this nurse.  I can imagine that she once worked for an older couple taking care of the husband and wife, and got them to change their will so everything goes to her and then she kills them, and before the police can get her she changes her identity and moves to Dallas and goes to work at this sanitarium.
Lucy is thrilled that she passed all her classes well she barely passed, her friend Annie and her boyfriend the drug dealer, want Lucy to go celebrate with them, but she tells them that she doesn’t want to, he gets mad at her telling her that next time she breaks up with a guy and has a mental breakdown then it will cost her more.  I have a feeling he probably was over charging her anyway since she is a Ewing and he figures money doesn’t mean anything to her.  She tells him that there won’t be a next time.  Sue Ellen should have been given the Bobby Ewing detox treatment, Lucy has gone straight in only a few days.
Sue Ellen is in her therapy session, she is giving him all the answers she thinks he wants to hear, but he wants to know how she really feels, for her to open up to him, so she can understand what made her start drinking.  She gets really mad at this and tells him that she doesn’t have a drinking problem.  He tells her that they will continue tomorrow.
Lucy asks Miss Ellie about Sue Ellen while she is addressing envelopes for her graduation party.  She says that Sue Ellen only cares about money and the Ewing name.  Jock asks Miss Ellie if she thinks Lucy is right.  Miss Ellie says that Lucy is very observant.  JR gets home and Jock asks him what the doctor said about Sue Ellen, he asks if there is there is anything else causing the troubles in their marriage.  JR says that it’s just between him and Sue Ellen, and tries to change the subject, but Jock tells him that he needs to be a better husband and father.
Sue Ellen asks JR to take her home, he tells her that once she’s stopped drinking then she can come home and she’s got to stop thinking about Cliff, he saws her the paper with a picture of Cliff and a woman.  She accuses him of having this made, he tells her to get better or else she will have the baby there too.  After he leaves she calls for the nurse, she takes off her pearls.
The next day the nurse comes in and finds a bottle lying on the bed, she tells her that she told her to hid them.  Bobby is here to see Sue Ellen, the nurse gives her another bottle, Sue Ellen complains that is smells and tastes like mouthwash, the nurse explains that it’s the only way she can sneak the booze in to the sanitarium.  Bobby brings Sue Ellen flowers, she asks him about the family.   She tells him that she will be home soon, and he says that she needs to get better for the baby, she gets mad at him telling him that he’s just like JR, and that no one care about her, everyone just cares about the baby, she runs off, and Bobby and the orderlies go after her.  He takes her back to her room, he tells the orderlies that she will be fine with him.  In her room she asks him to stay, the nurse doesn’t want to leave, I think she might be worried that   Sue Ellen might tell that she’s been giving her alcohol.  She apologizes to him for her behavior, and that she would be better at home.  He tells her that it takes time, and that she needs to give it a chance.  She tells him that that’s all she got, time.  Then she really makes Bobby uncomfortable she tells him about how she’s always alone in bed, because JR is always with one of his sluts, coming home smelling of their perfume, and she just pretends to be asleep.  She said that if she had only meet him first she would have married him, and she kisses Bobby, she tells him that he’s so understanding, the way a man should be.  She says that she loves JR, but he doesn’t love her, and she just wanted to go out and hurt JR so she did and went out and got pregnant she also brings up the adoption that JR put a stop to.  She tells him that JR might be the father of the baby.  Bobby asks who the father of her baby is and she breaks down and tells him that it’s Cliff.  Bobby is sure blinking a lot, I think he might be trying not to cry.
There is a knock at Cliff’s door, he opens the door and Bobby punches him.  He tells him that he thought JR played dirty, but Cliff could teach JR a thing or two.  He says that Cliff took advantage of Sue Ellen, and when Cliff tells him that he feel in love with her, Bobby says that he only falls in love with himself when he looks in the mirror.  Bobby tells him that he doesn’t want JR, Jock or Miss Ellie to find out.  Cliff tells him that JR already knows.  Bobby warns him that he better not talk to anyone about this.
The nurse tells Sue Ellen that she’s a slob, and should keep her room clean, maybe if you didn’t give her alcohol then she wouldn’t be so messy, Sue Ellen tells her to keep the door unlocked, but the nurse says that she won’t do that for any amount.  Sue Ellen doesn’t like that so she picks up the carafe and hits her over the head with it and grabs her purse and leaves the room.  Once outside she checks a row of cars and finds one that has the keys left in (put pic of the cars and add how would she get out if it was the car in the middle)  She drives away and pulls out a bottle and starts to drink again.  She doesn’t get very far, when she goes through a stop sign and runs into a pole after trying to swerve to avoid another car.
At the hospital the doctor asks her if she’s in any pain, she says yes.  The doctor tells her that she got to have a C-Section, they need to deliver the baby or it will not survive.  JR asks her how Sue Ellen is, she tells him that she’s bleeding and that she was drinking, they are going to deliver the baby and she will tell him more when it’s over.  Bobby and JR go to Jock, Ellie and Pam and tell them that Sue Ellen is going to surgery.  Jock is upset and wants answers from the sanitarium, he wants to know how she got out.
In surgery, the doctor only has two minutes to deliver the baby.
Pam asks Bobby what happened when he went to see Sue Ellen, he finds out that she knew about Cliff and Sue Ellen’s affair, she tells him she didn’t know how to tell him.  He tells her that he went to see Cliff, and that he felt like killing him for what he did to her.
The doctor says that Sue Ellen’s blood isn’t clotting and orders for more fresh blood.
On the TV Cliff hears about Sue Ellen’s condition, and he rushes over to the hospital.
The nurse calls for JR and tells him that he’s got a son, they go to see him, he’s very tiny, the doctor tells JR that Sue Ellen’s doing better, but they don’t know if the baby will live or not.  Pam goes with Jock and Miss Ellie, she sees Cliff and tells them that she’s meet them in awhile.  She wants to know what he’s doing here.  He tells her that he wants to see his son, she goes with him to the nursery, he begins to cry and tells her that that baby will be raised a Barnes if he lives.
In Sue Ellen’s room, Bobby tells JR that they have to go.  JR says that he doesn’t understand what happened to make things go wrong between them, he says that she is still so beautiful, he says that she’s got to live and he breaks down.
Cliffhanger:  Will Sue Ellen live?  Will the baby live?  Who is the father of the baby?
Final Thoughts:  Great cliffhanger, makes me glad that I don't have to wait for the next season like people had to when it was first on.
Best Outfit:  The fabric of this dress is odd.
Fight Count: 1 (Bobby vs. Cliff)
