Season 2 Episode 9

Airdate:  January 22, 1981

Recap:  Val, Karen and Abby are all in the car, and talking about JR coming to town for an oil convention.  Abby tells them that she is interested in him, and Karen tells her about the last time he was in town.  They ask her who she is meeting at the hotel, but she won’t tell them.

   Gary is talking to the two thugs; they remind him that he has until Thursday to come up with the money, he tells them that he won’t have it by then.

   They drop off Abby at the hotel, and she knocks at a door, and JR lets her inside his room.

   Sylvie asks Kenny why he lied to her, and shows him the divorce papers she found in his pocket.  She asks him if they can start over and get a new place that is their own, he tells her it won’t work out, he tells her that he wants to get Ginger back.

   Abby tells JR that Gary doesn’t know she has come to see him, and she tells him about what Gary is trying to do for Sid.  She asks him that if Gary came would he give him the money, and JR tells her that he would.

At the dealership Abby goes to Gary and he tells her no, he won’t have anything to do with his brother, she tells him that they will do something to him a lot worse and she doesn’t want to see that happen to him if he doesn’t come up with the money.  She tells him to think of Sid, he reminds her that Sid didn’t want anything to do with the stolen parts, and he tells her that every time he gets tangled with JR he loses, and he won’t go to him.

   Diana comes in and finds Michael making a collage for his class, and gets upset when she finds that he went into her room and took her yearbook and cut out pictures of basketballs that he needed.  She gets upset when Karen reminds her that everyone is trying to help Michael and be patient with him.

   Abby meets JR at the restaurant, he tells her that she is working really hard for someone who doesn’t seem to want any help.  She changes her approach and tells him that Val is talking about moving back to Texas, so if Gary can’t make a success at the dealership, they will move back, and Gary will go back to the family business.  She tells him that 50,000 will help him.  She suggests that he go to see Gary at the dealership.

Gary is trying to sell a car to a guy whose hearing aid doesn’t work, when JR arrives.  Abby comes over and suggests that they show JR around.  When they get into the garage and JR is talking to Sid about his engine, Gary pulls her aside and asks her why she brought him here, she tells him to trust her.  They go back over to JR and Sid and Abby suggests that they all come over to her house for dinner; Gary isn’t thrilled with the idea.

  Ginger is helping Karen with her groceries, and tells her that she is pregnant.  Karen is excited for her and asks her if it is good news, Ginger tells her that it would have been last year, but now with the separation she isn’t so sure.  She tells her that she is she is afraid to tells Kenny, because of what he might or might not say to her.  Karen tells her that she needs to talk to him.  Diana comes in and is eating an ice cream cone, Karen asks her where she got it, Diana tells her that she bought it.  Karen tells her that it wouldn’t be fair to Michael who is on a special diet to see her eating that when he can’t.  She tells her that she is tired of it all and walks out on her.

   Val tells Gary that she doesn’t want to go, he tells her that he doesn’t want to go either, Karen walks into the kitchen and tells them that if she has to go then they have to go.  At the dinner party, JR is trying to give a toast, but Abby’s kids keep interrupting him.  Sid tells JR more about his engine, he asks him about his patent, Sid tells him that it’s not ready for that just yet.  JR mentions Gary’s deal, and Sid asks what deal, JR sees the look on Gary’s face, and tells him that he confused his brothers, it’s Bobby with the deal, not Gary.

Richard is looking out the window at Abby’s house; he asks Laura if she knows what’s going on.  She tells him that Abby doesn’t talk to her.  He tells her that they don’t go out anymore now that she is working, and all she talks about is her work.  She asks him if his problem is that Abby is having a party without him, he denies it, and walks out, when Laura tells him that she knows that is what is bothering him.

   JR is talking to everyone about Lucy and her new boyfriend and that he will have to set him straight and get in going on the right path, Val goes off on him and leaves the house.  When they get home, she tells Gary that she won’t apologize to JR; he tells her that he wouldn’t ask her to.  She asks him what JR wants with them, and makes him promise not to get involved with him.

   Michael listens to his parents talking about him in the hallway.  Sid is telling her to stop treating him like he is a freak.

   JR tells Abby that he wishes his brother had married someone like her; she would be someone he could talk to.  He tells her that he knows that Gary is involved with stolen parts; she says that she wishes she could change his mind.  He tells her that he will give Gary the loan, only if he asks for it himself.

   The next morning Gary asks Abby what she is up to, she tells him that she is only trying to help him, and that she doesn’t want to see him get hurt.  He tells her that nothing is simple with his brother.  Abby tells him that going to his brother will keep him out of a wheelchair.

   JR is on the phone in his hotel room when there is a knock at the door, he goes to answer it and its Val, she tells him that she wants to talk to him about Gary.  He tells her that he didn’t come here for anything but the convention and he doesn’t want anything from Gary.  JR tells Val that she is dragging Gary down, that he could be so much better.  She tells him that she is glad that someone shot him and wishes she had done it.

Kenny comes into the house and tells Ginger that he broke things off with Sylvie, she realizes that he thinks he can move back in now, she tells him that she had been asking him for months to break things off with her and now that she started seeing someone he wants her back.  He admits that it’s true; he tells her that he thought that this is what she wanted.  She tells him that she wishes that things could be as simple as he wants them to be.

   Karen asks Michael if he is ready for their jog, he tells her he doesn’t want to go, and tells her that he heard them talking about him last night.  He tells her that he doesn’t want to be a freak.  She tells him that he isn’t a freak.  He tells her that Diana is always mad at him, and that the rest of the family is always trying to keep him busy, he tells her that he isn’t worth it.  She tells him that he is her son, and he is worth it, and that everyone is just trying to help him.

   The two thugs come by the dealership; they split up one going through the back way, checking to see if anyone is around.  Gary comes out and attacks him, when the other guy gets in from the front, he grabs Abby and tells Gary to let him go, they tell him that they only came to talk, and remind him about tomorrow. 

JR hands Gary the check, he tells Gary that he knows that he isn’t interested in helping Sid out, he wants the power.  Gary notices that the check isn’t sign.  JR takes the check back and gives him a suitcase full of money, he tells Gary that he wants to talk to him about Sid’s engine.

Final Thoughts:  I thought this was a good way to bring JR back to Knots Landing.  Val got on my nerves in this episode though, she keep going on and on about how JR wanted something from Gary, when he probably would never have come seen him if Abby hadn’t gotten involved.  I know that she doesn’t like him, but come on.  I like that Karen is telling Michael that everyone is trying to help him when it’s clear that Diana hasn’t done much to help him or anyone else for that matter.  I hope this stolen parts story line doesn’t last much longer, I’m not sure how Gary is going to get away from it, once he pays them for the parts how exactly is he going to explain it to Sid?
Best Outfit:  Why would you go out of the house in this, it's fine going around the house in, but to go to your neighbors house.

Season 1 Episode 2

Airdate:  6-13-13

 Recap:  While Rebecca and Christopher are having sex (the way they filmed this it seems like someone is in their hotel room), Elena is rereading the email, John Ross calls her, but she doesn’t answer the phone.  John Ross joins JR at the table, JR tells Marta that he wants to speak to her father, she promises that the moment he calls she will have him call JR.  JR tells John Ross to get him a draft of the papers before they get to Bobby.  

John Ross tells Marta that once the deal goes through they will celebrate like they used to, but for now they need to keep things professional.  He tells her that if JR talks to Carlos then they are screwed, she tells him that she’s got it under control.  JR looks out his window and sees Marta and John Ross kissing.

Christopher looks at his watch and tells Rebecca that if they don’t get up they will miss their flight.  She tells him that their honeymoon can wait since she knows that he doesn’t want his father to sell Southfork.  

On the phone Bobby tells the doctor to keep his surgery for Wednesday, he still needs to find a way to tell his family first.  Bobby goes out for a ride and stops at a tree, where Jock and Miss Ellie’s names are carved into the trunk, we can see other names there too, JR and Sue Ellen,  Bobby and Ann, and Christopher and Elena.  Bobby doubles over from the pain in his stomach as Ann rides over he stands up straight.  She asks him when he was going to tell her, he asks her how long she has known.  She tells him about finding his pills the night before the wedding.  He tells her about the surgery, she asks him if he is going to tells Christopher.  He tells her that he doesn’t want him coming back from his honeymoon, and tells her that he will be fine.

Elena goes to her door, John Ross is there, she asks him if he sent her the email, he reads it, and tells her that he didn’t do it.  He tells her that he only came after her in Mexico because he heard that she and Christopher broke up.  He says that he never hid the fact that he was crazy about her.  He asks her if the only reason they got together was because she thought Christopher left her, he gets upset when he can see that this was true. 

Christopher comes back to the ranch and tells Bobby that they decided not to go on their honeymoon, he tells Bobby that he doesn’t want him to sell Southfork, just to help him.  Christopher tells him to give him a chance, but Bobby tells him that he gave Marta his word.

Rebecca is talking to Ann, she tells her that she is feeling insecure about Elena and Christopher.  Ann tells her that she felt insecure when she first married Bobby too, she gives Rebecca the Ewing family recipe book.

John Ross goes to Mitch’s office and asks him what the holdup is, he tells him that his father wants to see the papers before Bobby signs them.  Mitch tells him that he thinks what he’s done for him is worth more than the $500,000 that he was originally offered.  John Ross asks him who much he wants.  Mitch tells him that if he doesn’t give him 2 million dollars by The Cattle Baron’s Ball then he will tell Bobby that he set him up and that he will tell JR that he is planning on screwing him out of the deal.  

John Ross goes to a bar that Christopher happens to be at as well, they get into a fight, and Christopher tells him that Elena might believe him about the email, but he doesn’t.  Christopher leaves, and John Ross gets a text asking him when he will get copies of the documents for JR.  

Elena goes to Sue Ellen and asks her if she can talk to the bank about getting her a loan so she can buy some old oil leases.  Sue Ellen tells her that she will loan her the money, she tells her that she would like to think that if she hadn’t married JR she would have been like Elena.  She asks her to go to The Cattle Baron’s Ball with her.

,John Ross and JR arrive at the ball, JR pulls out a walker and tells John Ross to watch and learn.  Inside Sue Ellen is giving a speech, she tells everyone how much they have made so far for Cancer research.  Someone in the crowd calls out asking her when she is going to run for governor.  JR goes over to Bobby and Ann, he thanks Bobby for coming to see him at the nursing home.  He tells him he won’t forget anything he said to him.  Bobby introduces JR to Marta, JR tells Bobby that John Ross already told him about the sale of Southfork.  JR tells Bobby that Miss Ellie did the right thing when she left Southfork to him.  JR tells John Ross to apologize to Bobby.  When Bobby and Ann leave he tells Marta that he never heard from her father, she tells him that he went to the hospital to get some work done, and that he will be out on Tuesday.   JR goes over to Sue Ellen

and congratulates her, he tells her that she will make a great governor.  John Ross goes over to Elena and tells her that he is still mad at her but wants to know if they are still partners.  She asks him if they are.  She tells him about the oil leases she is looking to buy, he asks her where she is getting the money, and she tells him that his mother is loaning her the money.  John Ross goes over to Mitch and tells him that JR is coming over and that he’s got a payment coming and to keep his mouth shut.  JR tells Mitch he is troubled by the hold up, and Mitch promises that he will get the papers to him soon.  JR tells him that he would hate to hit a man below the belt, but he will.  John Ross follows Marta outside and kisses her, they go to her hotel room.  She says that she thought that they were going to keep things professional, and he tells her that, that was then.  He mentions that he needs money to pay off Mitch, she goes to get him a drink and pours something into his drink.  They go to the bed, and she pushes a button that starts a camera that starts recording them.

Bobby tells Ann that he will be fine, she tells him that she knows, but she tells him that she is afraid that he has given up, and that is the real reason he is selling Southfork, he thinks that he won’t be around and that Christopher isn’t ready to take over.  Bobby tells her that Christopher has already figured that out for himself.  Ann tells him that he needs to tell Christopher, she tells him that he has the strength to fight for Southfork.

Marta watches John Ross as he wakes up the next morning, she gives him the money.

Christopher goes over to Elena’s house and tells her that he thinks he could use her thesis for his work in the extraction of the methane from the seabed, he asks her if she will help him.  Tommy is watching them from behind a tree.

Rebecca is cooking when Tommy walks in, he tells her that Ann has offered him a job at the ranch, and that he is in.  He asks her how she got Christopher to come back to Southfork instead of going on the honeymoon, she tells him that she didn’t do anything, she tells him that everything is right on track, she asks him what the point of the job is.  He tells her that they’ve just spent two years working on this job and that there is a lot of money on the line.  Tommy tells her that she needs to keep her eye on the ball.  He tells her not to get to comfortable being Mrs. Ewing.

John Ross meets with a PI at the state fair, and tells him that he wants him to get something on Mitch.  He tells him that he also wants him to find out who sent Elena the email.

 JR arrives in Mexico and goes to see Carlos Del Sol, Carlos is confused about the deal he is talking about, he calls his daughter to come into the room, and JR realizes that he has been played since this is a completely different woman than the one pretending to be Marta.

Final Thoughts:   Things are picking up.  I thought the scene with John Ross and his PI was like the scene from the Third Man, when Joseph Cotten meets with Orson Welles at the Ferris Wheel.  I had a feeling something was off with Rebecca.

Ellie Saves the Day

Season 3 Episode 12

Original Airdate: November 30, 1979

Recap:  There is a typhoon in the South Seas, JR wants to know when the rigs will be up and running again, they tell him that they won’t be up and running for awhile due to the damage the typhoon caused.  JR calls Allan at Cliff’s campaign headquarters, he isn’t there so he tries him at home, Lucy is there.  JR tells him that he wants to meet with him in 20 minutes.  When Alan finally arrives he tells JR that he thinks they are nearing the end of the plan.  JR tells him that he needs Cliff to declare that he is running by the end of the week.

Bobby comes into the office and asks Kristin where JR is.  He tells her that he knows about the Southeast Asia deal, he keeps asking her questions, while she continues to deny knowing anything.  He asks her if the Cartel is in on the deal, she tells him to ask them himself.

   Pam and Cliff are at lunch together, he tells her that he will declare his candidacy if he feels the support after his speech he is giving late.  He asks her to help him, he wants to see Sue Ellen.  She tells him that she is seeing a therapist and that he better not hurt her again,

   At lunch Bobby with a member of the Cartel Bobby finds out that JR alone on the Southeast Asia deal.  He discovers that JR put something up really substantial as the collateral to get the loan.  He goes to the hall of records and finds out that it’s Southfork.

   Cliff and Alan watch his speech together, Alan asks him when he will announce.  Cliff asks him about the money, he tells him that it is pouring in.  Cliff tells him that he will let him know.

   When JR gets home late that night Bobby is waiting for him and wants to talk.  He shows him copies he made at the hall of records.  Things get loud and soon Jock and Ellie come outside wanting to know what is going on.  Bobby tells him that JR mortgaged Southfork to buy the rights to drill in Southeast Asia.    Obviously they are both angry.  Jock asks when the oil will start coming in, JR has to tell them about the damage caused by the typhoon.  JR tries to convince them that things will be ok.  Miss Ellie tells Jock that she didn’t marry him to lose Southfork over an oil deal.  Bobby tells Jock that it isn’t his fault, Jock tells him that it is he taught JR everything he knows, but not when to stop.

   Sue Ellen is layi8ng in bed when JR comes into their room.  She tells him that everyone was listening to what was going on.  She tells him that he is scared, and that she has never seen him scared before.  He turns to go, and she asks him if he is going to her sister, she tells him that she doesn’t think that she’s ever been with a poor man before.

   Bobby tells Pam that he thinks everyone, but Miss Ellie could stand losing Southfork, and that it’s ironic that the Ewing’s will be destroyed by his brother and not hers.

   JR goes to Kristin’s house, he doesn’t believe her at first when she says that she is alone.  She convinces him that she cares about him and not the money.  She tells him that she hates Bobby for what he did.  She asks him if he is going to stay.

   Bobby finds Jock outside and he tells his son that there’s not enough time to start over, and that there is no time to build another Southfork. 

   JR goes into the office and gets a phone call from Alan, he tells him that Cliff will announce that he is quitting the OLM and running for Congress.  JR hangs up and is very pleased with himself.  He goes back to Southfork and gives them all the news.  They can start drilling for oil again in Texas again.  Miss Ellie asks Jock to try and extend the loan again because of this news.

   Jock goes to the offices and begins to get things running again.  Bobby comes in and tells Jock and JR that Vaughn will be in later.

   Cliff is waiting in his car for Sue Ellen, he goes over to her.  She isn’t pleased to see him, thinking he is having someone spy on her like JR.  He asks her about the baby, she tells him that he is well.  He tells her that he is making plans, but she stops him telling him no.

   Jock, Bobby and JR are all watching the press conference, Cliff announces that he is stepping down from the OLM and is going to official put his name in the race.

   Vaughn tells Jock that it’s too risky and that they can’t extend the loan.  He tells them that he would, but it’s the other bankers.  After he leaves Jock says that he thinks that they can get a week.  He says that they better strike oil or it’s all over.

   Back at Southfork Sue Ellen gloats over JR’s misfortune and that Jock is taking over things.  Sue Ellen goes to check up on the baby, she tells him that he will never know about the ranch, and that he will knew get his trust fund.  Miss Elle overhears this and she goes out and takes a tour of the ranch.

   Jock and Bobby go over paper work to see if they missed anything.  Jock gets a phone call and finds out the person who will be the head of the OLM.  When JR gets to the office, Kristin tells him that Jock and Bobby are going over all the paper work.  He decides to leave again and goes to the Cattlemen’s Club.    Once he is gone Kristin calls Jordan Lee, and tells him that she is free for lunch.

   That night before dinner Jock tells Miss Ellie that they tried everything, Miss Ellie tells JR that she will never understand his motives.  She tells them that the bank can’t take away the mineral rights that her father left her from section 14.  She says that she thinks that the bank will extend the loan if the drill for oil there.  She says that she is willing to go against her father’s wishes to save Southfork.

   The next day Miss Ellie goes to Ewing Oil to sign the papers, once she is done she asks Jock to take her home, she turns back and tells JR that she may never forgive him for this.

Final Thoughts:  I'm glad that everything has finally come out, and that JR secret it out of the bag, at least the secret about the oil.  I love Miss Ellie, she is awesome.  I love how she turned things all around and saved the ranch.  I can't wait to see what will happen  now with Cliff and his campaign.

Season 1 Episode 11

Air Date:   March 13, 1980

Recap:  The neighbors are all at Karen and Sid’s house playing cards, Laura’s father Is visiting the family.  Richard gets a phone call and takes it upstairs.  It’s not good news, Richard makes plans to meet his investor the next day. 

   Diana gets home with her boyfriend, they go up to her room, they are making out, but she asks him to give her sometime before they go any further.

   At home Laura gives Richard a nightshirt, she asks him what’s wrong and what the phone call was about.  He tells her it was only business.

   Sid and Karen talk about Diana’s boyfriend, Sid asks Karen if she took any money from his wallet, he is missing $100.00, she says no and mentions that Richard took his call in the room.  Sid says it couldn’t have been Richard.

   The next morning Richard tells Laura that he’s going into work, her father is surprised since it is Saturday.  Richard meets his investor at the golf course, he tells Richard that he has lost everything, on the stocks, he tells him that there is nothing for him to do but declare bankruptcy.  Richard tells him that this could lose him his job. 

   Laura, Val and Karen are all shopping, when they go to pay the sales lady tells Laura that her credit card is over the limit, Laura says that there must be some mistake.  Val offers to get her things for her, but she tells her no.

   Richard’s accountant tells him that there is nothing he can do, but to file for bankruptcy, Richard tells him that he won’t do it.

   Diana and her boyfriend are making out in his car, he tells her that he can’t wait anymore, she says she feels the same way, but she wants it to be special.

   Laura asks Richard about the credit card he tells her that it’s a computer error, but she says that she called the company and they are over the limit.  HE tells her that he needs $20,000 by next week.  The next morning Richard gives Laura a shopping list, he tells her to invite everyone over for a party. 

   Diana’s boyfriend Terry takes Diana to a garage and shows her his car that his friend has been working on for him, she sees him pay his friend with a $100, he tells her that his grandmother gave it to him when she asks him where he got the  money.

   Richard is making everyone stakes, he takes Sid aside and tells him about his money troubles, he wants to borrow more money from Sid, he reminds him that he already owes him money, Sid tells him that he can’t help him.

   Terry tells Diana that he is going to be house sitting for his aunt and uncle and shows her the key to their house, he tells her that they could go there.  She says that she could skip swimming lessons.

   Richard asks Kenny for help, when Laura asks him what he is doing, he yells at her, telling her to stay out of it.  Sid goes to Richard and tells him that he can give him $5000, but they will have to make it strictly business this time. 

   In their room Richard asks Laura to ask her father for the rest of the money, she tells him that the only thing he’s got is his house,she suggests that they sell their house, and she could get a job.  But she won’t go to her father.

   Diana overhears that her father is missing $100.  Terry finds her on her way to school, she acts distant with him, then asks him where he got the money, he tells her that his father gave him the money, she tells him she doesn’t believe him and runs off.

   Richard and Laura’s father are at the park with Jason, Richard tells him how difficult things are and that he needs money.  Laura’s father brings up the fact that Richard has already borrowed money and never talked about paying him back.  Richard tells him to mortgage his house.  He tells Richard no.

   Terry goes to Diana and tells her how sorry he is that he took the money, Diana hits him and runs into the house.  

   Richard, Jason and Laura's father get home and they are all very quite, Laura asks Richard what happened, and he tells her that she is just like her father.  She tells him that she went looking for a job today and she talked to a realtor about selling the house.  He tells her to forget it, or forget the marriage.  

   Laura talks to her father, he tells her that she needs to make Richard take her help, just like she did for him after her mother died.  

   Diana tells Sid that Terry took the money, and Sid gives her a lesson about betrayal.  Diana tells him she doesn't want to forgive, because he came into there home and stole from them.  

   Laura's father tells Laura that he is wiring her some money.  

   Diana tells Terry that she can't hate him, but that they can now only be friends.  He tries to give her a $100, but she won't take it, she tells him that he didn't take it from her.  He waits for Sid to come home and tells him that he wants to talk.

   Richard gets home and Laura has him sit down, she has a martini waiting for him, under the glass he finds a check.  She tells him that her father loaned her the money, and that there is going to be some changes.  She is going to get a job and pay her father back, and that she is going to be paying the bills from now on, she tells him that she still loves him.  Richard rips the check up and drives away.  He passes a car that's for sale, he goes over and begins to write the phone number down, he stops and throws the number away.  When he gets home he tosses a bag to Laura, she opens it and finds a roll of tape, she asks what changed his mind.  He tells her about the car, and tells her that she is right he is terrible with money, and he tells her that he hates to be ordinary, he tells her that thinks have to change but he asks her not to take away his dreams, he still needs them.

Final Thoughts:  I thought this was a good episode, we got to learn more about Richard and why he's the way he is, I still don't like him, but I understand him more now.  I like how they made you think that it was Richard who stole the money at first. 

Best Outfit: These look like ladies slakes to me, I think it might be because of the hem.

The Tangled Vines

Season 1 Episode 3

Air Date:  December 18, 1981   

Recap:  Maggie and Vicky are fixing the stone work around the door, they talk about the move to California.  Chase gets home and goes to find Cole, who is out in the fields, he was supposed to wait for Chase.  He tips the tracker, because of he didn’t see the ditch, Chase gets upset with him for not waiting.

   Angela is working on a bust of her father, she tells Lance that she wants to take Cole and Vicky out, she tells him she wants to know everything that is going on at their vineyard.

   While Maggie and Chase are getting ready for the dinner at Angela’s, they talk about the taxes they owe on the house, they don’t have the money to pay them.

   Angela tells Chase that his harvest looks good, she offers him an advance on his crops.  He says he’ll think about it, the offer is low.

   Vicky and Cole are with Lance at a bar, they are telling him about how they don’t really feel at home here, and that they don’t really have any interest in the vineyard.  Lance suggests that Cole follow his dream to work at an archaeological site.

   Emma comes down after the party is over, she is beginning to remember what happened to Jason, which worries Angela.

   Chase wants Cole just to wait a bit before he goes to work at the dig, but Cole can’t wait, he’s going to go.

   Julia tells Angela that Chase’s soil is the best in the valley to produce superior grapes.  Julia wants to know if Angela is going to destroy Chase just like she did with his father, she tells Julia to mind her own business.

   Gus tells Chase about a buyer who’s always wanted to buy Jason’s grapes.  Chase goes over to talk to Carl.  When he gets back he tells Maggie that he’s agreed to buy their crops and will give them the advance that they need.

   Angela has asked Carl over for dinner, he wants to know what she wants, she tells him it’s just to be neighborly, but then goes on and on about how that Chase’s grapes are family grapes.  He tells her that he made an agreement with Chase and he intends to stick to his agreement.

   Angela buys Carl’s mortgage, and Lance goes over acting like his a friend, but lets him know what Angela’s done.  Lance tells him he would like to know how he’s going to tell Chase he can’t buy his grapes after all, he tells Lance to get off his property.

   Carl goes to Chase and tells him that his lawyer told him that he didn’t have enough money to give them the advance, and that the deal is off.

   Chase and Maggie go to Angela’s, Julia is about to tell them that she knows why Carl backed out, but is stopped by Angela.  Chase wants Angela to pay more than her original offer since Carl’s offer was higher than hers was, but she tells him that she’ll wait till his crop comes in to be sure that it will be a good harvest after all.  She suggests that they go to the bank to ask for a loan.  Julia tells her that she’s got them right where she wants them.

   At the bank the vice president is with Chase and Maggie he tells them that he’ll get back to them the next day, but he’s sure that they will get the loan.

   Lance and Cole go out for a beer, he asks Cole how things are going, now that he’s doing what he wanted.  The bartender tells them that it’s closing time, Lance gives the guy a hard time, but leaves.  He offers to drive Cole’s jeep home, he backs into the building knocking down the fence to the patio. 

   Chase and Maggie are back at the bank waiting for the vice president.  He tells them that they were declined for the loan, Chase gets mad and tells him that he’s going to sue the bank for discrimination.

  Cole tells Vicky that the bank declined the loan, they both say that they didn’t want things to end up like this.  They go back to the bar, Cole talks to the bartender, he wants to pay for the damage, but he tells that Lance already paid and that he told him that it was Cole who did the damage.  They both realize that their cousin isn’t a friend of theirs after all.

   Chase and Maggie discuss their options, he tells her that if they sell their apartment in New York then it would more than cover the taxes.  They call a family meeting and tell the kids what they are thinking, but want to know what they think.  Cole agrees right away, Vicky is more reluctant, but agrees.

   They invite Angela, Lance and Julia to their house to give them the news.  Angela is very surprised by the news, but you can see that this isn’t the news that she was expecting.  The only one who’s happy about the news is Julia.

Final Thoughts:  I'm a bit confused how Chase knows that Angela wants his land and for him to fail, I don't know if I missed something in a previous episode or not.

Best Outfit:  I wish I could have seen this from the front, it ugly from the back so I'm sure it's just as ugly in the front.
