UPDATE!! Falcon Crest mini marathon

So it's been a long time, since I've updated, and honestly even longer since I've watched any of the shows, since the move to the new house, my schedule has been all screwed up, not to mention all the great new shows that have started.  Anyway, I decided that I would have to do things a little differently, since it was so hard for me to totally recap the shows, it honestly too me almost double the episodes length to watch it, so I wouldn't miss anything I was writing down, and another hour at least to type it all down here.  And since I found a new hobby that is perfect to do while watching TV, cross-stitching.  I decided that I would just enjoy the shows, and write a synopsis of what happened with my thoughts about what happened, we'll see how this goes.

So I had Friday off since I was asked to work on Saturday, and I decided that it would be a perfect time to start watching Falcon Crest again, since it was the last show I watched before my "break"  and since I finally managed to get the entire series!!!  So excited about this!  I watched while I was cross-stitching the last of 3 of the same project I've been working on.
  1. The Namesake (November 19, 1982)
  2. Choices (November 26, 1982)
  3. The Vigil (December 3, 1982)
  4. Confrontations (December 10, 1982)
  5. United We Stand... (December 17, 1982)
  6. ...Divided We Fall (December 31, 1982)
  7. Pas De Deux (January 7, 1983)
  8. Above Suspicion (January 14, 1983)
  9. Broken Promises (January 21, 1983)
  10. Deliberate Disclosure (January 28, 1983)
  11. Love, Honor and Obey (February 4, 1983)
  12. Separate Hearts (February 11, 1983)
  13. The Odyssey (February 18, 1983)
These episodes dealt with Cole, and the murder of Carlo Agretti, Maggie finishing her script, going to Hollywood, and almost having an affair, to finding out that Richard and Chase are brothers, and that his adopted father had something to do with Nazi's.  So Cole has been cleared but that doesn't stop the police from hounding him, and people of the town still thinking that he did it, even if the evidence cleared him, it was proven that a right handed person hit Carlo and Cole is left handed, if this show was on today, this probably wouldn't still be an issue, someone tried to kill Cole and make it seem like suicide.  Maggie finally finished her script and went to Hollywood to give it to the producer, (I forgot his name).  I don't know if my copy was missing a few scene, because once she is looking for an agent to the next moment she is calling Chase telling him that she has to stay and do rewrites because the movie is being made.  So this leads to her going to the producers house to work on the script because the hotel had complaints about her typing all night.  The walls must be very thin there I can only imagine what else there are complaints about.  So once there the producer tries to seduce her, which he almost succeeds but Maggie leaves and goes back home.  Chase's mother comes back to help him with proving Angela has been taking money from the vineyard and using it to buy the New Globes stocks.  She tells Chase to work with Richard, since it's Angela that he should be fighting.  Jacqueline admits to them that Richard is her so, and at the founder's day party at Angela's house Richard tells everyone that she is his mother.  Now Angela wants to find out why Jacqueline abandoned her baby and goes to France where she meets with the nun who ran the orphanage, she tells her that Denault dealt with the Nazis.  Through all this we also saw Melissa having a son, who almost died, Richard bringing the doctor who saved him, Melissa and Richard almost getting together, then publishing the news that Lance isn't the father but Cole is (Lance took the baby and had a paternity test done.)  Now Lance and Melissa seem to be together, working to get Falcon Crest.  Maggie doesn't want Chase to continue his investigation into the murder of Carlo and has moved out.  Vicky is having an affair with an married man, Nick Hogan, who works with Chase, who is now getting a divorce, and now Vicky has left home to move in with him.

Next time I'll have some pictures to go along with my post and include a cross stitch pattern I created for Dynasty.

Family Reunion

Falcon Crest
Season 1 Episode 12
Air Date: February 19, 1982

Recap:  Maggie is stressing out, while cleaning since Chase’s mother is coming to visit.  Chase tells her not to worry so much, his mother is coming to see them, not inspect the house.  Maggie tells him that she just wants to make a good impression.  He tells her that his mother told him not to tell Angela that she was coming.  Chase calls the airport to get her arrival time.
Lance goes to the flower shop, and finds Vicky there, she tells him that her grandmother is coming to visit.
Chase tells Maggie that his mother will be there in 20 minutes she got on an earlier flight, so he goes to pick her up, while Maggie and Cole rush around to finish cleaning and get dressed.
Lance goes back to Falcon Crest and tells Angela that Chase’s mother is coming.  She tells him about her and he wonders why she is coming back.
Vicky arranges the flowers around the house, then goes up to clean her bathroom.  Maggie is trying to get dresses, when the doorbell rings, Chase goes to answer it,  and finds his grandmother at the door.  Maggie is halfway down the stairs, half dress, with half of her make up on.  Chase comes home just then and hugs his mother.
Vicky is with her grandmother, while she unpacks her things.  She tells her about her grandfather.  Vicky asks her why she left.  Her grandmother changes the subject.  Lance comes over with a gift for Jacqueline, it’s a gift basket of Falcon Crest wines.  She reads the card, it’s an invitation to dinner at Angela’s house.       She tells him that she wants to spend time with Chase and his family.
When Lance gets back he tells Angela that he doesn’t think Chase knows why his mother came back either.  Angela tells him that she will find out herself.  Julia is talking about Jacqueline and Jason, Angela gets upset that everyone is talking about her and tells him to stop it.  Emma comes downstairs dresses up, she says that she wants to go see Jacqueline, but Angela tells her to go up and change.  Angela leaves.
Chase and Jacqueline talk about his father’s death, he tells her that he isn’t so sure of Angela’s story.
Angela is playing golf with her lawyer, he tells her what he’s found out about Jacqueline since she’s been gone.  He tells her what her income is, and that she could be a tough opponent.
Emma is taking a walk and finds Jacqueline at Jason’s grave.  Emma tells her how Jason would always talk about her.  She tells her that Jason fell, but when she questions her about it, reminding her that Jason died in a car accident, Angela comes over just in time, she tells Emma to leave.  Jacqueline tells her that she dominates everyone one.  Angela asks her why she came back.  Jacqueline tells her that she just came back to warn her son.  Angela tells her that Jason became a drunk after she left and that is why he had his accident.  Chase pulls up and Jacqueline leaves with him.  When they get home she tells him that they should leave Falcon Crest, that Angela destroyed his father and she will do anything to stop him from succeeding.   Chase leaves them, and Maggie tells her that the land means a lot to Chase,  Jacqueline tells her that she is just afraid for them, and that she could give them one of her vineyards  in France, she tells her that she just wants the family to be together.  Vicky is listening in on this and goes out to find Chase.  She tell him about his mother’s offer, but he tells her that this is there home and they can’t take her offer.
Angela calls and invites them over for dinner, Jacqueline takes the phone from Maggie and asks Angela over to Chase’s house for dinner, and she tells her to make sure to bring Emma.  Maggie tells her that she is surprised that she wants Angela over.  Jacqueline tells her that it would be a good idea to play Angela’s game on their own court.  She tells her not to worry about dinner that they will have it all catered.
At Angela’s when Emma comes downstairs ready for the party, Angela tells her that she can’t come, but Emma tells her that Vicky invited her and she goes out waiting for the rest of them.
At Chase’s everyone is socializing, Jacqueline makes her entrance.  At dinner Emma says that its’ too bad that Jason isn’t there with them.  Angela agrees with Jacqueline when she says that Jason and Chase don’t belong at Falcon Crest.  Jacqueline tells her that she never gave him a chance.  Angela gets up and goes outside, followed by Jacqueline.  Maggie stops Chase from going after them.
Jacqueline tells Angela that she won’t let her destroy her son.  She tells Angela that she knew that she was after all of Falcon Crest and that was why she left.  She took Chase so that she wouldn’t destroy him, she tells her that she doesn’t believe her either about Jason’s death.  Chase comes out and tells his mother that he isn’t his father and that he understands Angela’s way of business, and that this is there home and that they have no intention of leaving.  He lets her know that he understands why she left.
Back at home Lance says that the things Emma said made a lot of sense, Angela tells him that he is on thin ice.  I guess this is referring to something that wasn’t shown since the only thing I remember Emma talking about was wishing Jason was there.
Cole asks Vicky when she is going to France, she tells him she doesn’t know.  He tells her that he thinks it’s a good idea, because they all see how unhappy she is there.  She is surprised by this.  I am surprised that she is surprised since all she does is talk about how much she hates it there.
Maggie and Chase get into bed, she wants to talk to him, but he doesn’t want to talk right now.  She tells him that his mother is just afraid for them and tells him how dangerous Angela can be.  He tells her that he thinks Angela overplayed her hand with his father.
While Jacqueline is packing her things she tells Vicky that she will make some calls to the schools in France.  Vicky tells her that she can’t go to France.  Jacqueline tells her that she is her father’s daughter, she isnt’ a quitter.  She tells her that France will always be there.
At the airport, they are all saying goodbye.  Chase tells his mother that he would like her to stay so that they could be a family.  She tells him that she ‘s been waiting a long time to hear that.  He tells her he resented her taking him away and that he wishes that they had talked about this a long time ago, but that has changed now.  She waves as she goes to board the plane.
Final Thoughts:   I really liked this episode, I hope we see more of Jacqueline, she is someone who will really stand up against Angela.
Guest Star:  Lana Turner

Best Outfit:  Emma looks like Baby Jane or maybe Eliza Doolittle before she is made into a lady.

Will the Circle Be Unbroken

Knots Landing
Season 1 Episode 5
Air Date:  January 25, 1980

Recap:  Val’s mother is at her door, but she isn’t home.  Karen comes over and introduces herself.  She tells her that she can wait for Val at her house.   Lilimae says she can’t find her wallet, and Karen pays the cabbie I’m positive that she just doesn’t have any money.  Lilimae asks if Lucy is living with Val, Karen tells her no that she should know that, Lilimae says of course she forgot.  Lilimae takes out her auto harp and begins to sing for her.
Ginger and Val are driving home, she asks if they are going to be bringing Lucy out soon, Val tells her that she’s ready, but Gary isn’t yet, but she’s working on it.
At Karen’s all the kids are listening to the song, they think it’s great.  Karen suggest that they all have dinner at her place.  When Val gets home, Karen’s son Mike tells her to come over that they have a surprise for her.  She is surprised alright, she asks her mother what she’s doing here, she doesn’t seem to happy to see her mother.
At dinner, everyone seems pretty happy, except for Val, she excuse herself and goes to the kitchen, she remembers a time when her mother left her and her father to go on tour.  Karen comes in and asks what’s wrong.
When they get home Val goes upstairs to get the room ready for Lilimae, Gary takes the suitcase upstairs and asks her what she’s doing, and if she really dislikes her mother that much.  Val tells him that they need to find out what her mother wants, give it to her and send her on her way.  She comes back downstairs and tells them that she’s tired and is going to bed, she lies in bed listening to her mother singing to Gary.  She remembers the time after her father died and her mother sent her to her grandmothers, so she could go on tour again.  She goes downstairs and demands to know why she is here.  Lilimae says that she came to see her, and that she’s also waiting on a call from her new manager.  Val dreams about the time she went to her mother for help, but she sent her off, and JR’s men took Lucy from her.  She wakes up screaming, and Gary tells her that the visit will be longer than a few days, Val tells him that she’ll deal with it tomorrow then.  In her room Lilimae takes out a large rag doll and says that she brought it to help Val, and that she is planning on staying awhile, she says to herself that she will paint the room blue.
Gary finds Val making fritters, she tells him that she’s going to keep busy, and that she is going to have the neighbors over for coffee and dessert.  Laura comes over and asks her how long her mother is going to stay,  Val asks Laura if she sees her mother often, Laura tells her that her mother died when she was younger Laura told Val about that in the last episode
Lilimae tells Val that she can’t serve the fritters to her neighbors, they are too country to the city folks, so she convinces her to make something else.  They taste it and Val thinks it’s gross, but Lilimae tells her that the neighbors will like it because that is what they are used to.
Sid takes a spoonful of whatever it was they made and makes a face, he goes over to Gary and asks him what he’s eating her tells him the fritters are in the kitchen but to be subtle.  Sid passes Richard who just came out of the bathroom, he got rid of his too.  Kenny tries it and makes face and puts it down as fast as he can.  Lilimae suggest that they all sing, then she starts to talk about how Val never understood her dreams, Val gets upset and tells her that she doesn’t want to talk about it, and she goes to the kitchen.  She remembers her dream and we get to hear that Lilimae sent her away because she had her latest manager over and she didn’t want him to know she was a grandmother, so she sent Val off and that was how JR’s men got Lucy.  Val cries out, and Gary goes to her, everyone else follows and stands at the doorway.  Val screams at her mother that she hates her and that Lilimae turned her and Lucy away when she needed her mother.
Gary comes back to the kitchen and tells Val that everyone went home, she tells him how sorry she is, he tells her that he knows she tried.
Diana finds her mother sitting on the sofa, she asks how the evening was Karen tells her that Val and her mother had a scene.  Diana tells her that she hopes that nothing ever comes between them.  They hug and she goes to bed, Karen calls her mother so see how she is doing.
Val goes to her mother and apologizes, she tells her that she doesn’t hate her, she only hates what she did.     Lilimae tells her that she didn’t know that it happened, Val tells her that she tried to tell her, she tells Val that she’s got nowhere else to go, no money nothing.  Val leaves her.  Later Lilimae comes downstairs and tells them that she will leave in the morning.  Before going back upstairs she says that Val would have forgiven her if she had become famous.  In their bed Val tells Gary that she’s wrong all she wanted was a mother.  Val goes to her mother’s room and rests her head on her lap.
The next morning Lilimae tells Val that her manager called and has an opportunity for her, she is really going to make it this time.  Val wants to take her to the airport, but she tells her that she’ll take the cab.  Val says goodbye and watches the cab drive away.  She goes to the room and sees that her mother left the doll, she picks it up and hugs it to her and sings.
Final Thoughts:   The whole scene of the party was hilarious, I want to know what they were making, it must have been a hard recipe, if I remember correctly they didn't even have all the ingredients, I bet Val used them all up for the dozen batches of the fritters she made.  I like that her mother was planning on staying, without even asking if she could, you got to love relatives who don't know when they aren't wanted.  Lilimae needs to get to reality, she needs to realize that she will never become a famous singer, it was clear that this was what bothered Val so much about her past as well as her mother closing the door on her own daughter, if she didn't want that manger to know she was a grandmother, then she should have just lied to him and said that Val was her sister or a friend.  And that song Lilimae sings throughout the whole show is really annoying I can still hear it in my head days later.
Best Outfit:  Ugly top and an ugly pattern on that skirt.
Fight Count: 1 (Val vs Lilimae)
