Blake Goes to Jail

Dynasty
Season 1 Episode 12
Air Date:  April 13, 1981
Recap:  Krystle goes to the mansion and Andrew tells her how glad he is that she came back, and for her not to tell Blake that she was going to leave and not come back.  He takes her to where Blake is being questioned by the police.  They want to take him downtown, he tells it was just an accident, and that he won’t go anywhere without seeing Krystle first.  The police leave them for a few minutes together, but then they handcuff him and take him downtown.
At the police station, Andrew tells him that they are going to 1st degree murder, and that one of the servants overheard him say that he was going to kill him.  Blake tells Andrew that they need to call in some favors, Andrew tells him he’s got no chance and that things are going to get very messy.
Matthew is waiting for Krystle at the station, he tells her that she needs to get out of here, but she asks if Claudia was in trouble would he leave, she says that she’s going to be there for Blake.
At Ted’s funeral Steven, with Fallon, tries to talk to his mother, but she walks away.
The trial has begun (I don’t know how long time has passed, but it seems like it’s the next day) and the prosecutor is Matthew’s friend.  Blake tells Andrew that he doesn’t want Claudia called to the stand.   They both make their opening statements.  Fallon tries to call Steven and Blake tells her that he hasn’t been able to get a hold of him either.
Jeff tells Blake about the meeting with the board, Blake tells him that he’ll still be able to make the meeting because the judge has a doctor’s appointment.  Blake tries to talk to Steven, but Steven tells him that he can’t look at him.
The prosecution begins with the maid, she tells them about overhearing Blake say that he’ll kill him and run up the stairs.  (Now maybe this is because I’ve watched too many episodes of Law and Order, but I was wondering why Blake’s lawyer didn’t object, she says that she heard him say I’ll kill him, but who is him?  He could have meant Steven and any lawyer now would say who hasn’t’ said I’ll kill him at some point.  It doesn’t make it premeditated.)
At Matthew’s office he is watching the news and sees Ed telling everyone about seeing Steven and Ted at the restaurant.  Claudia tells Matthew that Steven isn’t all gay, he wants to know how she knows, and she tells him that Steven told her at their house when he came over for dinner, Matthew thinks it’s a bit strange that he would have told her that when they hardly knew each other.
Blake asks Krystle to stay with him, but she tells him that she’s not ready to share his bed yet.  She tells him that she’s feeling guilty for not being there for him when it happened.
The next day at the courthouse Jeff tells Blake that the meeting has been moved back, so that he won’t be able to be there, the trial is about to resume.  He tells Krystle that she is going to act in his behalf and she needs to figure out who is the ringer leader, and he tells her what she is going to do in the meeting.
Fallon is called as the next witness, she changes her story, from what she told the police.
At the board meeting Krystle tells them all that she is going to be watching them.
Steven is put on the stand and tells the court that Fallon lied, and that Ted didn’t push Blake.
Final Thoughts:  As I said earlier I don't know if it's just because I've watched too many legal shows or they just didn't know how to write one, but the whole court scenes don't seem right to me, and that they decided to charge him with 1st degree murder right away.  Otherwise a good episode with a lot going on.
Guest Star:  Brian Dennehy
Best Outfit:  This jacket has a matching skirt, it looks more like a rug to me.
Fight Count:  none unless I want to count the flashback sequences of Blake's fight with Ted.
