Bobby is the only one at home, and while he’s on the phone, someone knocks on the door, it’s the man from the hotel, he asks for Ellie Ewing, Bobby tells him that she’s in Dallas, he asks if he’s her son, and he gets mad because Bobby looks like Jock.   He goes but the lady who’s with him, her name is Kathy tells Bobby that he’ll come back later.
Ray comes over to the house and tells Jock that one of the ranch hands saw something going on at section 40, Jock decides that they need to go check things out.
In Dallas Miss Ellie and Sue Ellen leave a store and talk about what color Sue Ellen wants for the nursery, she leaves Miss Ellie, who is going to wait for Pam, to make a phone call.  She calls Cliff and asks him what his favorite color is, He tells her she shouldn’t be calling him like this.
Jock asks the ranch hand about what he saw, he tells Jock that thinks he saw a tanker, so Jock and Ray go over to section 40 to check things out.  They don’t find anything, until they are heading back, and Ray finds a puddle of crude oil, they check the well and Jock sees that it’s been tampered with.
Jock confronts JR who tells him that it was probably vandals.
Bobby tells Miss Ellie about the visitor and gives her the gift the man left.  She opens it and finds it’s a painting of the old Southfork ranch house.  Just then the man returns, Miss Ellie is shocked to see it’s her brother that she thought was dead.  He tells her he wanted her to think he was dead.  The family gets reacquainted, and Garrison tells Miss Ellie that he’ll come back the next day.
Sue Ellen and JR talk about Garrison’s return and what it might mean for the baby.
Jock doesn’t want to stay when Garrison is there, since he’s a friend of Diggers, so he goes into town.
JR calls Willie Joe and Jeb, and tells them that their crew made a mess at section 40.
Ray goes to a bar and asks a friend of his to look into who was drilling oil at Southfork, he tells him not to tell anyone who is asking.
Garrison and Ellie talk about the ranch and their father.  Ellie tells him that Sourhfork is his home.
Later she gathers the family and tells them that she wants to give Southfork back to Garrison because their father left it to him in his will.  None of the men are happy about this, Jock tells her that he saved the ranch, and he doesn’t want to hear anymore talk about giving away their home.
Bobby and JR talk alone and he thinks that they should talk to Garrison and find out what his plans are, but JR says that he’s only there for the money.
Bobby tells Pam that he’s worried about his parents, they haven’t had a fight like this in a very long time.
JR gets his detective to investigate Garrison. (JR would have him on speed dial if he had speed dial)
Garrison and Kathy come for lunch, and JR takes her on a tour of the ranch, he asks her why Garrison came back, and then asks why she’s with him, she’s just in it for the old man’s money right?  She leaves.  When JR gets back he tells Garrison what he thinks is going on, and when JR tells him that he’ll fight him for the ranch, Garrison tells him that he’s not going to let him get away with it, and that he’ll fight back.  Miss Ellie yells at JR for what he did, and goes into the house.
Pam and Bobby go to Garrison’s hotel to talk, he’s asleep Kathy tells them.  She tells them that she’s not his lover, but his nurse, and that he’s dying.   Later at the ranch Pam and Bobby talk about what they should do about what they learned.
JR gets his report, and thinks he was right, Garrison withdrew all his money.
Bobby goes to Miss Ellie and they talk, he tells her that Kathy is Garrison’s nurse.
Miss Ellie goes to visit Garrison, Kathy leaves them, and Garrison tells her that he’s dying.
Ray meets up with his friend at the bar, he tells Ray that he’s got someone who might know something.  That same guy goes to JR first, knowing that he’ll get money from JR for his information.
At the ranch Miss Ellie brings the family together and tells them that Garrison will be moving into Southfork, and that he’s dying.  Jock apologizes, and Miss Ellie tells him that she’s not angry anymore, and she only wants things to be as normal for Garrison as they can be.
She and Garrison go for a walk, he tells her that the ranch is like it was before the depression, he’s happy to be home again.
Final Thoughts:   This was a good episode, it gave us more of a backstory to Jock and Ellie, and it was from a different perspective, then either of them or Digger.
Best Outfit:  This isn't terrible, but maybe if your going into town to see someone as important as JR Ewing, you might want to put on some clean clothes.
Fight Count:  2 (Garrison vs Jock and JR) (Miss Ellie vs JR)
