The Necklace

Season 1 Episode 8

Air Date:  March 2, 1981

Recap:  At the Denver Carrington offices Blake is in deep thought, he asks his secretary to call Krystle's private line.  She is lying in bed ignoring the phone, when the secretary tells him that there is no answer Blake tells her to try again later. 

Claudia is checking on the dress she made for Lindsay for the party she is going to, Lindsay must be feeling better since she's not moping about her parents.  Claudia and Matthew are excited about being alone for the weekend.  Walter calls and tells Matthew that he thinks that they are close to the oil coming in Claudia wants to come with Matthew, but he tells her that the guys will want to go out and celebrate, she wants to know who else he is going to celebrate with, he gets mad and leaves the house, Lindsay comes out and tells Claudia she doesn't want to go to the party anymore because of the fight she just heard, Claudia tells her that all married people fight, and that she wants her to go and have a good time. 

Blake comes home with flowers for Krystle, he apologizes and soon she is forgiving him. 

 At the oil field the water is still running clear, but they all are getting nervous. 

Claudia goes out to a bar named Scandals, and is instantly hit on by men, she shoots one down, but the other one she spends the whole night with, and even goes home with him, until he tries to kiss her then she doesn't want anything to do with him and runs off, she calls Steven and tells him she needs his help. 

Fallon goes to Michael and he tells her what Jennifer found out about Krystle and the necklace.  Steven and Claudia are walking in a park, she tells him about what she did, and tells him she feels safe with him and not to change.  He tells her that he is going to the family cabin to be alone for awhile, she says that she would like to go too. 

Fallon asks Krystle to borrow the necklace, and Krystle agrees, she senses Fallon is up to something and confronts her about it, but Fallon denies it and after seeing the necklace for herself says she doesn't want to borrow it after all.  After she's gone Krystle burns the receipt for the reproduction.  Claudia is with her therapist, she isn't happy about the way things are between her and Matthew, he asks if she asked Matthew about the other woman, and she says she doesn't want to talk to him because she knows that he loves Krystle. 

At the art gallery Krystle and Claudia meet up, and Claudia confronts Krystle about the affair with Matthew, Krystle wants to know if she's talked to Matthew. 

At the oil sight the water is still clear, but suddenly they strike oil and they go celebrate. 

When he finally comes home with a box of chocolate for Lindsay and a Beatles record for Claudia he finds out that Claudia is still out.  Lindsay tells him about seeing the marriage license and he tells her that yes they were young, but they loved each other.  Lindsay wants to know if he still loves Claudia, he tells her yes, but she says that she doesn't believe him. 

At the Carrington cabin Claudia is with Steven, she is telling him about what happened with her and Krystle, she says she won't talk to Matthew about it because she doesn't want to hear him say it.  She asks why he doesn't tell her to leave, Steven tells her he doesn't want her to.  She wants him to hold her.  Later, they are in bed together, and Steven tells her that he's never been with a woman before.

Final Thoughts:  I think that this episode doesn't put Krystle in a very good light, and I really can't believe how quickly Krystle accepted Blake's apology.  The whole thing with Lindsay freaking out because her mother was pregnant with her before her parents got married was a bit silly. 

Best Outfit:   I was going to pick the outfit Claudia wore at the bar, since her hair was crimped out but then I saw this sweater and had to choose this instead.
