Enter Alexis

Dynasty
Season 2 Episode 1
Air Date:  November 4, 1981

Recap:  Alexis is being sworn in.  The prosecutor has her tell the court about her relationship with Blake, she says that it began to be an ideal relationship, but then Blake began to work longer hours.  She began an affair with someone who worked on the estate.  She tells them how Blake found out about the affair, he walked in on them.  She said that he became violent.  Andrew objects but he is overruled.  Alexis tells them that he hit him with a candlestick.  When asked if it was reported to the police tells them that no, Blake bought everyone off, even her, by making her sign a paper making her never see her children again.  She said he threatened her by implying that the children wouldn’t recognize her if she tried to see them.
Krystle gets up and leaves the courtroom.  Blake tells Andrew he doesn’t want him to cross-examine her, so Andrew asks for a recess.  Blake tells Joseph that he wants him to bring some charts from his bedroom to Cecil.  During the recess Andrew tells him that he needs to cross examine Alexis so he can prove that she’s lying, but Blake tells him no, and won’t tell him why he won’t let him.  Blake tells him that he needs to prove that he didn’t mean to kill Ted.
Alexis comes over to Steven, she tells him that she didn’t just come to testify she wanted to see him as well.  When she looks to Fallon, Fallon tells Jeff to go.  Fallon tells Alexis that she doesn’t believe anything she says, and that she’s tried to forget about her for 16 years.
Jeff asks Krystle if she’s ok, when he sees her come out of the bathroom, Fallon sees Jeff taking Krystle to her car.
When court resumes, Blake asks where Krystle is, Fallon tells him that she went home because she wasn’t feeling well.  Andrew tells the judge that he has no questions for Alexis and they begin their closing arguments.  The prosecutor begins and is yelling about how no one is talking about Ted, well that was kind of your job since you’re trying to proved that he’s guilty.
At the Carrington mansion Joseph asks why Krystle is home, asks if they let court out early, she tells him she wasn’t feeling well.  She asks him about Alexis, but he won’t tell her anything, because she is an outsider, which she calls herself when he stops himself.  He needs to get over his feelings for her because it’s pretty clear he’s not fan of Alexis’ either.
Andrew begins his closing argument, and it’s like night and day, he’s not screaming at the jury, he tells them that Alexis lied.
When the jury is released for deliberations Jeff asks Fallon if she wants to go out for dinner, she says no that she wants to be home with Blake.  Fallon goes over to Steven to try and talk.  He can’t understand why she won’t listen to Alexis.  She tells him that they’ve been the talk for 16 years and that Alexis got a lot of money for staying away, he asks how she knows this.  She tells him Jeff told her, and he heard it from Cecil.
Alexis stops Blake and asks why she wasn’t cross examined, she’s got something that he doesn’t want getting out.  She tells him that she’ll use it when she needs to.
Andrew tells Blake about the car accident.
At the hospital the doctor tells Claudia she’ll be alright, when she asks for Lindsay he tells her that Matthew took her, and left a note for her, obviously it was a verbal note, he tells her that Matthew took Lindsay and for her not to look for them, this is a great doctor, she freaks out and they give her a shot to calm her down.
Steven and Alexis are having lunch together and he’s eating everything she is dishing up, he really wants to believe everything’s she’s saying.
The doctor tells Blake that he can’t see Claudia, the prosecutor tried to see her and he couldn't, but Blake tells him that he paid for a wing of the hospital, so the doctor tells him that he can see her for a few minutes.  She tells him she doesn’t want to see him, he tells her that it wasn’t his idea to have her put on the stand.  She says that she doesn’t believe anymore, that she only believes in pain.  He tells her that if she needs help just to call him.
Fallon barges into Krystle’s room, waking her from her nap and demands to know why she walked out on her father, Krystle tells her she wasn’t feeling well.  Fallon doesn’t believe her, she thinks that Krystle left because she believed what Alexis told the court.  Krystle tells her that isn’t true Fallon tells her that if her father is found guilty that she’ll find a way to pay her back.
At dinner when Blake leaves the table Fallon makes another comment about Krystle to Jeff.  Blake tells Krystle that he missed her at dinner, she tells him she wasn’t hungry.  He says it felt like she was hiding from him like she did at the court house.  She tells him she wasn’t feeling well.  He tells her Joseph told him she asked about Alexis and tells her his side of the story.  What she said was partially true.  Krystle tells him that it was cruel of him to keep her from her children, and he tells her that she stayed away because she was only interested in keeping the money he gave her.
Alexis tells Steven that is she came back her lover was going to testify that she was the one that crippled him not Blake.  Of course Steven believes her.  She gives him a painting of him that is supposed to be of him when he was 6, it doesn’t look like a 6 year old at all.
Blake apologizes to Krystle for everything and tells her he’ll change if he’s freed.
Final Thoughts:   When I saw the opening credits and Matthew was gone I was so happy, he was the most annoying character.  I know that we are no in for some great campy scenes now that Joan Collins has joined the show.  Fallon needs to get on Krystle's side now that her mother is back in town.  I can't wait to see what is going to happen next.
Best Outfit:  While this isn't the worst thing I've ever seen I don't like the  things around the next and down the front.
Fight Count: 2 (Fallon vs Alexis) (Fallon vs Krystle)
